Carriers launch Vietnam services for booming intra-Asia trade

Intra-Asia trade is the world's single largest trade lane and grew 3.8% last year to 28 million TEU, and is forecast to rise to 29 million TEU this year.

MCC Transport launch a new twice-a-week NV1 service between North Vietnam and China on Jan 9, 2018. Port rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Haiphong, Hong Kong, Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Haiphong, Shanghai.

Yang Ming Line will launch China-Vietnam Express CVX service on Jan 9, deploying one vessel with three from joint operators TS Lines and MCC. Port rotation will be Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Haiphong, Hong Kong, Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Haiphong, Shanghai, with a 28-day port round trip.

OOCL will add a Japan-Vietnam Service (KTX7) on Jan 14. Port rotation is Osaka, Kobe, Shimizu, Tokyo, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Haiphong, Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Osaka.

Hyundai Merchant Marine will use co-loaders Wan Hai and Sinotrans on a weekly China Philippines Feeder for Central China-Philippines trade. It connects Ningbo, Shanghai, Manila, Subic Bay, and Ningbo. The first sailing was on Dec 15.
