CMA CGM Log China expands China/Europe rail service

CMA CGM Logistics China has expanded its container on rail options with the launch of a regular block train service linking Yiwu (Zhejiang province) with Duisburg in Germany and Milan in northern Italy with a transit time of 16 days for discharge in Duisburg and 20 days for the northern Italian city. It is being provided in conjunction with YXE International Container Train mainly using 40ft high cube dry and reefer containers for the operation. A total of 23 units moved on the first train.

Its containers are all fitted with GPS devices for full tracking and tracing of the containers during the journey, monitoring of conditions (mainly temperatures) inside the containers and of the door locks/seals.

It provides further evidence of the increasing popularity of China/Europe/China rail services. CMA CGM Log is also involved in the Shilong Express rail service which regularly connects the southern China city of Shenzhen with Poland and Germany.
