New Priok Port's first terminal starts operations

The long-awaited New Priok Container Terminal I, the first terminal at Tanjung Priok Port's new facilities in North Jakarta, built by NYK Line, Pelabuhan Indonesia II, Mitsui & Co and PSA International opened for commercial service at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta, Indonesia. This new terminal will be operated by the newly established company PT New Priok Container Terminal One. The terminal at Indonesia’s largest port will have an annual handling capacity of approximately 1.5m teu, an overall berth length of 850 m and a 16 m draft.

The $320m terminal is the first of three being developed at the port over the next few years. Pelindo II, state-owned port operator, expects Tanjung Priok to be able to handle up to 18m teu per year by the time all the three terminals are completed in 2023.
