New productivity record in Singapore

Ocean Network Express (ONE) and PSA Singapore (PSA) have set a berth productivity record on while handling the 14,000 TEU “NYK SWAN” at Pasir Panjang Terminal on Dec 21 2018 with over 6,000 container moves accomplished in 18.5 hours, a gross rate of over 300 ship-shore moves. PSA has previously reported berth productivity of 300 moves per hour at Pasir Panjang on 3 occasions in early 2018.
The Port of Los Angeles recently claimed a record when APM Terminals at Pier 400 handled 27,846 TEU on and off the 15,500 TEU Eleonora Maersk, but the vessel was in Los Angeles for 8 days, whereas the NYK SWAN arrived and departed SIN within 28 hours. It is not known how many TEU were exchanged during the call. (WCS)
